KTS PR-02 Titanium Guitar Saddles for ABR-1 bridges are designed to replicate the authentic feel and performance of Gibson’s original ABR-1 bridge.
Like the original parts, the PR-02 saddles feature unfiled string grooves. This allows for precise string alignment, as string spacing can vary slightly between different guitars.
To achieve optimal intonation:
- File the string grooves: This is typically done by a qualified guitar technician to ensure accurate string spacing and intonation.
While you can file the grooves yourself (using a regular file or a dedicated nut file), we recommend seeking assistance from a qualified guitar repair technician for the best results.

However, unlike other manufacturers who use random surplus titanium scrap, KTS utilises only premium-grade, formula-specific metal. Manufactured to very high tolerances in Japan, KTS begin their production with round rod titanium and then cold-roll it several times to form the correct shape for each individual model of saddle. The titanium is then annealed at a very high-temperature in an argon gas atmosphere to create a very high structural stability within the saddle and increase its overall durability and strength. After this, the saddles are then sent to the final machining process, ready to be fitted to the guitar bridge.
