Description
Wolfgang Rihm dedicated these Two Pieces , which he wrote in 2022, to the cellist Sol Gabetta, for whom he also wrote Concerto en Sol in 2018.
The edition contains “Lied ohne Worte” and “Verschwundene Worte (- ein ‘Lied ohne Worte’)”, which were already recorded on CD by Sol Gabetta and Bertrand Chamayou.
The demands of both pieces are relatively simple at first glance, but despite their apparent simplicity and slowness, there are many special and delicate ways for good cellists to play them.
