As used in the syllabuses of the Associated Board and Trinity Guildhall Grade Examination Boards. Aimed at the early trombonist and euphonium student. Musical development from Introductory to Grade 2
Keys in Use – F major/ Bb major/ Eb major. Tempi – Andante to Allegro ma non troppo. Time signatures – 2/4, 3/4 , and 4/4 (8/8). Range – Low a to Middle C by progressive steps. Intervals – Up to a 4th. Slurs – Only in place for Euphonium or Baritone. Dynamics – From ‘mp’ to ‘f’ only. Designed out are 6th and 7th positions, and semi-quavers and dotted quavers. Designed in are comfortable intervals ranging up to a 4th. Note values – Quavers to the semi-breve (with occasional use of the triplet).
