Description
A Guiro is a Latin American percussion instrument that has an open-ended, hollow body with parallel notches cut in one side. It is played by rubbing a stick along the notches to produce a ratchet-like sound.
The Meinl GU7 Is a black plastic / fiberglass interpretation of the original gourd plant guiro and produces a similar ratchet sound, yet has the inherent build strength to withstand years of use, unlike the original gourd plant guiro, which tended to be very fragile.
