The EMG H3A is a passive humbucker pickup that enhances the tonal qualities of the original H3 by using Alnico V magnets instead of ceramic. This design choice smooths out the highs and provides a semi-compressed feel, resulting in a well-balanced tone with clear highs and mids. The over-wound coils ensure great harmonic content, making each string ring clearly without any muddiness. In the neck position, the H3A offers a P90-like quality, perfect for rhythm or punchy leads, while in the bridge position, it delivers plenty of top-end without overwhelming the overall balance of your guitar.
