Description
For piano and violin. Composed for Hilary Hahn, Avner Dorman’s inspiration for Memory Games is the classic 1980’s memory game ‘Simon.’ The original game has four colored buttons, each with a distinct sound and a light bulb behind it. The machine illuminates and sounds a string of notes at random; the players have to repeat the patterns. Several rounds of Simon are played throughout Memory Games, so to speak, making it resemble a Passacaglia (or variations on a bass line).
