Description
An intensive 6-day (51hours) course to build your own Strat-style guitar. Included are all materials and hardware required to complete the guitar.
This course is designed as a great Introduction to Building Your Own Guitar.
This Course includes the following materials in the price:
Alder Body Blank
Maple neck blank
Ebony Fretboard
Guitar truss rod
Gotoh SG381-MGT locking tuners in chrome
Gotoh EV510TS Tremolo Unit in chrome
Crimson Strat Pickup Set
Nickel Silver Fret wire
Bone nut blank
Plastic side and top dots
Chrome knobs, electronics, and strap buttons
*Timbers and hardware can be upgraded through us at an additional cost to the course.
You may, however, choose to bring your own materials and hardware if you wish. You will be provided with a Specification sheet for a quote and to confirm that you will be bringing the correct materials upon purchase of the course.
A Standard Week on the 6-day course:
Day One– Welcome and orientation. Begin on the neck and fingerboard. Body Shaping.
DayTwo– Finish body shaping. Carving the neck and prepping the fingerboard for frets
Day Three– Fretwork and a neck pocket.
Day Four– Routing body cavities. Body carving.
Day Five– Finish any shaping and drilling of all holes. Fine sanding, and flash coat. Wiring.
Day Six– Assembly. Set up. Play!
This 6 Day Course entails 8.5 hours a day with coffee/tea and lunch breaks. Your day will begin at 9 am and end at 6 pm. You are welcome to come in 15 minutes before the day starts, but we cannot let students into the workshop before 8:45 due to health and safety reasons.

Unlike many “schools”, all our teachers have extensive experience working in Crimson Guitars busy Custom Guitar Building and Repair Studiounder Master Luthier Ben Crowe.
While there are local shops and pubs within a 10-minute drive of Crimson Guitars, we recommend our students bring a packed lunch.
